The Mercer County Superior Court has original jurisdiction over all indictable (felony) offenses that occur within county. So whether you have been arrested in Hamilton, Lawrence, Ewing, Princeton, Trenton, West Windsor or Hightstown and charged with a felony offense you will still need to appear in the Mercer County Superior Court. The Mercer County Superior Court is located in Trenton at 400 South Warren Street.

Charged with a Criminal Offense in Mercer County NJ?

The criminal courthouse in Mercer County is now located at 400 South Warren Street in Trenton, New Jersey. It is just a short distance down the road from where it used to be on South Broad Street. It is brand new state of the art building that was completed just a couple years ago. The criminal division of the Mercer County Superior Court is located on the first floor, right next to the elevators. Janet VanFossen is the Mercer County Criminal Division Manager and she can be reached at 609-571-4104. The criminal division is in charge of taking all Pretrial Intervention Program and Drug Court applications. In addition, they will be responsible for drafting all Presentence Reports as well.

The Mercer County Superior Court presides over almost 10,000 felony criminal matters each and every year. Those cases will be assigned to one of the four Mercer County criminal judges. Here is a list of the four judges who are currently assigned to the criminal bench.
